ABOUT DJUANA O'CONNOR OSHIN
Djuana O’Connor Oshin has 25 years of experience in litigating contested divorce and parentage proceedings involving allocation (custody), parenting time (visitation), inter-jurisdictional custody disputes, orders of protection, property division, child support and maintenance. Prior to starting her solo practice, Djuana represented clients at three Chicago area legal aid agencies, and later, in private practice at a boutique family law firm. She worked as a supervising attorney at the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office, where she represented abused and neglected children as a guardian ad litem for eight years.
Djuana received both her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from Loyola University Chicago, and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1991. She is a certified mediator, having obtained a 40-hour mediation certificate at Northwestern University and a 40-hour certificate in divorce and family law mediation through the Illinois State Bar Association. Since 2021, she has been an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she teaches courses in domestic violence.
